Has anyone here used an eBook reader as a Home Assistant dashboard?

I’m planning to buy an eBook reader. My primary purpose is reading books. However, when I’m not using it for reading, I’d like to use it as a Home Assistant dashboard.

While deciding on the device, I’m trying to understand whether I specifically need an Android-based e-ink reader for this use case. Is Android necessary to run a dashboard reliably via homeassistant app, or are there alternative web based approaches?

I saw some projects but couldnt see with real device experiences.

I’d appreciate hearing about any experiences, recommendations, or setups you’ve tried.

I looked at 10" android models like Onyx Boox Go and PocketBook InkPad

Interesting idea. I tried it on my Kindle using the in-built browser and the results were sub-optimal.

Everything is squashed horizontally. Here is how the default Home screen is displayed

I can’t find any settings in the Kindle browser to rotate it to landscape to see if that would help.
