Echo device not showing up as media

Hello I’ve been trying to get my Alexa devices to play media or speak in setting up a routine like someone’s home or alarms going off etc. However after integrating Alexa through the Casa web or even search for Alexa media player I can’t get it to show up as a device anywhere to pick as a destination for the audio file. There are other media devices that it sees Android TVs etc but no Amazon devices. Any help would be greatly appreciative I’m what I’m doing wrong

Does your Alexa Media Player integration show any devices in the Integrations Settings page?

No media player option in the interrogation section…I can’t even add it. Searching for it does not even show up as an option to select to integrate

Then you have either not installed the Alexa Media Player integration, or you have installed it incorrectly.

I would love to install and or reinstall the Alexa media player… it’s not even an option and or if I go to integration and do a search for it… It does not even come up… only media options are DLNA, Plex etc… but not Alexa media option…

The main search function will only show integrations that have been configured. The search that appears when you click “Add Integration” will only show integrations the system is aware of… that includes core integrations and custom integration that are in the custom_components folder. Alexa Media Player is a custom integration, so it needs to be downloaded and installed into your custom_components folder.

This can be done either by using HACS or by manually copying the files.

Once you have downloaded and installed the files you need to restart home assistant then the integration should be available when you click “Add Integration”.
