@LiQuid_cOOled is not displayed for me. Never mind. We are already in contact. Thanks

@wcavanagh We can always use a helping hand. Especially with your skills. We will get back to you as soon as we have gathered the basic information.

No problem at all, love a challenge :slight_smile:

Hey there!
Can you add me to the testers too? Thanks :pray:

Hey guys I stopped the testing, having the app or using the browser is pretty much the same thing.
In order to make the app work correctly we need to make it support touch like FireOS requires.
If you guys find any good reason that the app will work better I can invest into it

Thx already tried that with kodi, its working! But if i rename the ha app it cant be saved with apktool and the new name. But if touch doesnt work, its useless anyway :wink:

In silk browser you have the url bar showing and the javascript autoscroll doesnt work correctly, so the app would be better :wink:

you can install wall panel and remove the top bar… I have it like this

wallpanel:
  enabled: true
  hide_sidebar: true
  fullscreen: true

regarding the scrolling I didn’t notice any issues so far.

Do you mean this by wallpanel?

So this successfully puts silk in fullscreen mode?

yes and yes

Really? Can u send us a photo of your just opened ha in silk Browser

My experience with Wallpanel is that it will put the Silk browser in fullscreen mode (no address bar) after you touch the screen once. It will not open the browser, load the HA dashboard, and immediately go into fullscreen without human interaction. Since the Echo Show 15 won’t keep the browser open indefinitely, I’ve set up the Alexa skill, the routine, and the automation in HA as described in other posts. Effectively, every 10 minutes HA toggles a virtual switch which triggers the Alexa routine to send the Show back to the HA dashboard in Silk. Wallpanel is used for a screen saver with my own photos. But the address bar is always visible in Silk unless I walk over and touch the screen. The only problem I have with this setup is that the Show itself seems to lose the touchscreen functionality periodically. It just stops responding to touches (even if I disable all the HA stuff and use it as Amazon intended). Only fix is a power cycle.

This is crazy. I am about to finish my remodel and I ran a wire in the wall for power. I have to cut a huge receptacle hole that will be useless unless this actually works. Let me tell you I am nervous about committing to this echo show. So frustrating. I had a kindle fire on the wall for years with open kiosk and it worked great except that the wall mount was a 3d printed job that wasn’t very nice looking. I really love the echo show 15 package just not the software… I continue to monitor this thread to see if a robust solution is viable.

I‘m using normal mode with silk, i have routine which opens ha url in silk and it keeps it open because i have a camera feed on dashboard. The only „issue“ is the address bar. I then manually scroll a bit to top and them the bar is gone and everything is fine.

@bumrufus yes, I need to tap it first… it also happens in my computer its only in fullscreen after first tap

@Crypto90 - did you get anywhere with the touch part of fully?
Somehow I managed to publish it on amazon and install it… I have no idea if I published it only for testing or it is live… I had to fill out sooooooo much crap and screenshots etc…

Anyway - as everyone else - I haven’t found a way to get the touch part to work.

using wallpanel here as well… in silk.
I am missing a way for the echo to open silk on the HA page as well.

My wallpanel config is this:

wallpanel:
  enabled: false
  hide_toolbar: true
  hide_sidebar: true
  fullscreen: true
  idle_time: 0

To keep screen open I’ve added a footer to my dashboard:

type: horizontal-stack
cards:
 - type: iframe
   url: https://dagammla.gitlab.io/keep-silk-open/iframe.html
   aspect_ratio: 0%
   cardStyle: |
     :host {
       width: 0%;
       background-color:#FFF;
     }

Very simple stuff but it works.

btw - am I the only one that has a red bar in the bottom the silk? ← figured this out. Turning off microphone apparently plops that red stripe onto the screen … :frowning:

I believe I deployed the app to the live app-store… I got an email today from amazon telling me they’d disabled my account :frowning:

Any update here? Hows this running for everyone? I am getting close to cutting in the hole one my wall and no terribly confident the echo show is the best wall device?
