Ecobee developer not logging in

I made a developer account before the API was cut off from ecobee and I had to do a fresh install of HA. I am trying to log back in to the ecobee integration. I have the API key, but I am not sure what it wants for the user name and password. I tried using my login for the ecobee site and also my HA login, but neither works. What is it looking for in those fields?

It should just be your regular ecobee account.

Perhaps try logging into their website, which will open the consumer portal, and then access the API key from the profile menu → developer.

I did that to make sure I still had the developer option and that is where I got my API from.
