Ecobee hvac_mode attribute

I’m trying to create an automation that has a condition that the ecobee must be in “cool” mode. I can’t find the appropriate climate.thermostat attribute. I’ve tried both “mode” and “hvac mode” as attributes and neither work nor are they listed as attributes under the Developer States page.

I see that hvac_action indicates what the system IS CURRENTLY doing (see heating below), but that’s no help when the system is idle.

The attributes I see are:

Any help would be appreciated.

The state of the climate entity is the mode it’s set to (heat, cool, off, etc.)

Pretty sure all you need is the entity state of the climate.ecobee entity. Shown here in the off and heat state.

Thanks! I don’t know how I missed it!

I came across this old post… I have a similar issue with capturing the state of my ecobee. When the TSTAT is off (i.e. not heat, cool, or auto), then the circulation fan should be set to 0 min/hr. The latter part works fine, but the trigger does not.
What am I missing here? TIA!
