Ecobee Integration +3mins behind reality, how to improve?

After using Ecobee with the HomeKit (it isn’t great, but it is better than the current Ecobee Integration), I wanted to see if I could change the mode to Aux (gas furnace), but it is not (and will not) be supported unless Apple wants it. Alright, I can sort of live with that, but what I can’t live with after getting the Ecobee Integration (EI for short) setup (using 2FA Email), that the EI is more than 3 minutes behind the real operation of the system (and no it isn’t the internet causing it).

I plan on replacing an outdoor temp sensor with a HA capable one, so I can monitor the outdoor temperature accurately (hopefully), to safeguard the Heat Pump’s limit of 45F. Therefore I would then need to use the outdoor temperature that the Ecobee gets with it’s weather report against the real temperature and alter the Aux heat offset so that when it hits 45F (really) against the weather report, it can switch over safely, thus running the gas furnace instead.

Obviously EI’s 3 minute+ lag in real time operation, makes doing anything with EI, a bad idea. My only other recourse would be to push the limit from 45F to 50F just to be safe (and I may just do that). My main reason for EI’s inclusion was just to be able to see when the gas furnace is coming on, as I don’t know what HomeKit will report when it does.

Does anyone have any suggestions on improving EI’s responsiveness? Even the app doesn’t take that long, a few seconds and it is changed.

Have you used the ecobee portal at all? It runs about 5 minutes out of sync. So if you seeing 3 minutes that is almost a 50% improvement on time.

I’ve seen it, but everything is still relatively new (equipment wise), so I’ve had no reason to adjust anything that was setup by the installer.

~5 minutes, why is the app so much faster then? A shame the Integration can’t follow the app better.

I just signed in to ecobee.com and watched the system run. It was actually pretty fast, though I did refresh the site to see if it was showing what I was seeing on the device and it did, but at no point did the Ecobee Integration do anything, shows nothing changed. The fan comes on for 1 minute and goes off (3x an hour), the ecobee.com panel showed it doing so, the Ecobee Integration, was on a loooooong coffee break.

Just watched the cool go on (with fan), refreshed the ecobee.com portal page and it was there, the same when it turned the system off for just fan (so fan after cool/heat), the app and the refresh on the portal both showed the same data. So the refresh of the data on the portal seems to be only if you open a settings or something, otherwise it is probably 1 minute or so. But the Integration is absent in this, still saying compCool, fan which is totally out of sync, so it is the method the Integration is using or the API at Ecobee that is delaying everything, but if the API is being used with the App, then that rules the API out.
