Ecobee Pin not recognized

I tried adding my ecobee device, but I am unable too. I am getting an error that my four digit ecobee pin I entered is invalid despite it being the code provided to me by the Ecobee card.

I do have the latest Home Assistant load.

The 4 digit ecobee pin changes with every failed attempt to validate the app. Tap the Info button under ‘Developer tools’ (on the left) to find the latest 4 digit code, then try again.

Problem is that is fails in the first attempt. I removed the ecobee.config file to get new pin and it failed on first attempt again.

What am I missing here?

Took me forever, but here is what I was missing:

If for whatever reason you delete and re-create your ecobee app at ecobee.com such that your developer API key changes, you will need to delete your /conf/ecobee.conf file . You will also need to update the api_key: in the configuration.yaml or secrets.yaml file.

Once I deleted the ecobee.conf file it worked!

I am running Home Assistant on a virtual machine on my windows 10 PC. How do I find the ecobee.conf to delete it?
