I am based in Ireland and looking for an electric radiator heating solution to replace the storage heaters. I live in an apartment so gas is not an option. I have HA set up and have everything in my home linked up. I would like to find an electric solution that I can integrate with HA but I haven’t seen anything on the site. I have come across a heating solution that has WiFi integrated and an app. http://rointe.ie/corporate/products/d-series-delta-ultimate/d-series-radiators/ I am wondering if that is possible to use with HA or are there any other solutions out there? I would like to be able to control the time of day the radiators turn on and the temperature. I understand that I can use heat sensors and relay switches to accomplish this but I would like an all-in-one solution. Can anyone recommend anything? Thanks in advance for your help
I have the Rointe K series radiators in a holiday let. These were installed before they came out with the wifi ones. I’ve installed a Sonoff TH16 unit in-line with the power supply which lets me turn on/off as required and monitor temperature/humidity.
Thanks for coming back to me guys. I was trying to find an all in one solution but maybe sonoff might be the way to go. In regards to the TH16 do you position the temperature sensor away from the radiators or how is it best to do it.
@jchasey how do you find the rointe radiators? I have been doing a lot of reading on various radiators and by the sounds of things electric radiators are all the same as they’re 100% efficient. I have looked at all the different brands and am finding it hard to make a decision.
They Rointe radiators seem pretty good and were recommended to me by my architect who has used them in many projects. When one failed customer service was great too, they arranged an engineer to come and replace it.
I put the sonoff in an electrical box on the wall about a foot from radiator with the temperature sensor attached to the outside of that. The radiators run off a 13amp plug, I just wired them direct into the sonoff.
Have been running fine for last 6 months. I’ll try and grab a picture this weekend.
