So having stripped down my ikettle from Smarter.am due to issues with cloud services.
I am potentially looking to piggyback an esp32 module or similar to be able to read the strain gauge, read the thermistor and also ground the switch
Having perused the circuit diagrams which I found on https://fccid.io/2AKC5-SMKET01/Schematics/Circuit-Diagram-3267208 and having looked at the actual kettle itself its made of 2 boards, 1 is the power supply and relay board.
The 2nd board has a switch, a white 2 pin connector which comes from the thermistor (which is in the kettle base) and a 3 pin strain gauge.
(Boil Switch) closes to GND to make the kettle boil
There are already a couple of people trying to get the ikettle 3.0 working via HA and this to me seems to be the best way of doing so and to lose the unreliabilty of the cloud.
