What’s the difference between Watching & Normal?
I have had this setting for ages and I’ve never received an eMail.
However, I do get the pop-up button on my icon.
But it does mean I have to keep the browser open.

Normal - no notifications.
Tracking - you get notified of the number of replies when you visit the forum.
Watching - you get an email for every reply.
If you are not receiving emails, check your profile settings. Also did you use a disposable email address when setting up your forum account?
There is a topic that I posted, and from the beginning I have had the Watching option set there. I have never received an email. Nor did I receive one on a private message sent to me. I don’t understand it

This stopped working for me a week or so ago, no emails on watched topics since then.
@mariusz.schimke I have the same issue. I do not received emails. In fact the only email I ever got was the one asking me to authenticate the account. I am watching threads and never get any email notifications - checked spam etc. I had an issue with another forum which looks like it runs on similar software. I checked with the admins and they said my email address had been blacklisted due to too many bounces. I had them remove this and it worked fine ever since. I wonder if that is the issue here?

Moderators do not have access to email information. You will have to contact a forum administrator. There’s a list here: About - Home Assistant Community

You have them turned off in your profile preferences, turn them on.
