Emulated Hue - Different Subnet

Is is possible to get emulated hue working when HA and the Echo are on different subnets?

I have…

HomeAssistant - 192.168.1.0/24
Echo Dot - 192.168.3.0/24

Im pretty sure they can talk to one another, however, its kind tough to verify as I don’t think the dot ever responds to ping requests

when you run discovery from your phone it runs on phone connected subnet I suspect.
If possible, maybe run discovery on device in same subnet.

I believe it will work once discovered but remember seeing something that made me think alexa is not checking other subnets

No dice with that idea.

where devices discovered?

No, tried from a computer on the same subnet as my HA instance, no devices discovered.

I always assumed it was the actual Echo doing the discovery.

I am not sure, but I believe that Echo is sending IP multicast address of 239.255.255.250 to Emulated Hue. If correct then this is a “private” IP address of “Admin” scope, meaning it is allowed to travel from one private subnet to another private subnet. However it also means the router connecting the two subnets would have to be configured to route this multicast address.
