Enable/Disable automation not working

In the UI, when I go into an automation and disable it with the “Enable/Disable automation”, it automatically re-enables by itself. I am running HA 0.113.0, but this issue has persisted for some time. Has anyone else seen this?

Just did a test. I am not seeing this.

Anything reported in your logs when you try to disable an automation?

Also the Logbook now gives some indication of who turned things off and on.

That’s the strange thing, it does not show up in the log or logbook. I managed to turn it off once via the Automation page where you can see all automations with a slider to the left, but then all automations turned off and showed up in the log. However when I go back in now, it is enabled again.

Please find the automation on the STATES page. Click the small circle with an i in it to the left of it, then turn it off with that toggle. Does it stay off?

Yes, it does. But I found that once I edit any automation by using the Automation UI page, all automations will re-enable again. As said, this goes for editing any automation.

That’s probably because you’ve set the initial state to on, which overrides whatever state they were in before they are reloaded (or before HA restarts.) Remove the initial state setting.

You are absolutely right, initial_state was set to true for some of them. Stupid mistake to overlook, thanks for the hint
