Currently device locations are not shown in the Map view if the device location is ‘home’. This is documented here and HA behaves this way.
I suspect this was done for aesthetic reasons as many device showing in a small area would not look good.
However, consider that many people set their ‘Home’ radius to be quite large (either because they have large properties or because they consider the whole local area to be home). I do this to ensure that automations based on my home/away status don’t trigger if I’m just down the far end of the garden for example. However my family would still like to be able to look at the map screen and see that I am indeed in the garden and not missing in action.
Strange, I can see in map my wife, myself and my car within zone. On the screenshot below large blue screen is my home zone and you can clearly see not only that our locations are different, but also history of our movements within the zone (perhaps just tracking innacuracy, though).
Well, the default view of people property does not show enoght long history (I was recently at home all the time), but history card, configured for last 48 hours shows tha I was not home for some time:
Red bars show Away, pink one presence at other, defined zone.
The map does not show people that is home, but a map card does.
Just add a map card in panel view and you get the same thing as the map but showing the locations.
