It would be useful to enable SSHFS as network storage, since the protocol is very simple and easy to use.
It requires a simple package(sshfs) and minimum configuration on the client site(ssh keys).

sshfs would be an excellent addition, allowing more targeted network storage through networks and firewalls that might not allow NFS or SMB traffic.
