Enabling Z-Wave JS to MQTT Add-On crashes Home Assistant - How do I retrieve logs

Short Question - How do I get Home Assistant log files after a restart from a Home Assistant crash?

Long Version - I needed to move to Z-Wave JS to MQTT from the Zwave JS Add-On to get a new Zooz Device working. Everything worked great for a few days. I needed to to a System restart and now Home Assistant won’t restart with Z-Wave JS to MQTT set to start on boot. I restored to a VM backup, disabled Z-Wave JS to MQTT start on boot and can restart fine. As soon as I enable the Z-Wave JS to MQTT Add-On Home Assistant crashes. I can restart Home Assistant since I set the Z-Wave JS to MQTT to not start on boot There is nothing useful in the home-assistant.log.1 after I am able to restart. I have watched the Z-Wave JS to MQTT log while the Add-On is turning on and it get to this point and stops

How do I troubleshoot this?

Connect via samba or ssh, in /config folder you will find home-assistant.log

The system is not reachable after the crash, can’t ssh or get in via samba. I can only restart

Just pull the log after the restart. The information regarding the crash should still be there.

Do you mean the home-assistant.log.1? I didn’t see anything helpful in there? Any chance this has something to do with the last command I see in ZWaveJS 2 MQTT before it crashes, Performing a Soft reset?

Maybe the Soft Reset in Z-WaveJS2MQTT is interfering with USB storage if you are using that? If you cannot access the Z-WaveJS2MQTT addon you’ll have to re-install and reconfigure it I think, then you can disable the Soft Reset functionality as well.
