Public Service Announcement:
The British Chartered Trading Standards Institute aka Trading Standards in the UK has published a safety recall notice for TCP Smart WiFi 2 Gang Socket. This is identical to the Ener-J Smart WiFi Double Socket With USB which Amazon recalled from me via an email message.
Don’t use them. Disconnect them and send them back.
Does anyone have a link to the exact text of the recall or know the SKU numbers?
Ener-J and BLT direct have these sockets back in stock, and I ordered a couple before finding this note. But it seems the Trading Standards website doesn’t archive back recalls very far.
The fact distributors are still stocking them makes me hope they’ve fixed the issue but very little faith of that
