Energy consumption breakdown

Introduction of Home Assistant Energy is a great idea and helped a lot in tracking energy usage!
I think that next step is modifying daily usage bars with individual devices breakdown.

Let’s take a look at this graph as a base to work upon:

It shows energy usage breakdown per energy source.

Is it possible to offer switching energy usage breakdown per energy consumer? Like on image above, let’s say blue is electric kettle, yellow is HVAC and purple is TV.

This is a very good idea! To add to this:

Can we also have a current (instantaneous) power in the round balloons on the right?

Can’t you do this already?

That’s not the same. Breakdown on bottom of your screenshot presents consumption during that day in total, I wanted breakdown for each hour.

I mean you can kind of do this by tapping on the device and seeing when it spiked during the day.

As part of this change, could be possible to add the cost of the energy consumption for every individual device? eg. i would like to see not only how much the washing machine consumed in kWh, but also what is the cost of the used energy

what do you think?

In my opinion this is a great idea worth creating next feature request. I’ll vote for it if you create it!

I agree, that would be awsome!
Since I am planning to switch to an electric car, I would be very interested in the power consumption of this during charge.

Right now, I could probably add a single device to track the total usage down for this, but I would not see, when and how much energy was used for charging in the hourly stats.

Also, I am not sure - if I use the “track single devices” - does this “just adds” to the total power consumption?
this information does come from my solaredge meter and will probably be calculated based on "imported energy vs. produced energy vs. exported energy…
