I’d also like to see heating and cooling added to the energy dashboard.
Honestly, I think the first place to start would be a simple graph showing the heating and cooling time per hour each day (plus per week, month, year, decade, century, millennium, etc) I think this is one of the things my nest thermostat (the new one in the google home app) does incredibly well and I would love to see HA copy their homework.
Things I like about the Nest implementation is it always displays a fixed period (00:00-23:59), if you somehow have heating and cooling on the same day they stack and show the corresponding colour and the interface is just clean. I’ve tried replicating this in HA and I have not yet come close.
Heating in my flat come from city cogeneration plant (production heat and electricity in the same time) and each customer like me have individual heat meter.
Therefore asking for add “Heating / cooling” section alongside existing energy, gas, water, solar panels, home battery system.
Right now I can add my heat meter to energy section (from physical point of view it is true) but heat should be threat as separate section like gas (m3 of gas multiple conversion rate give energy), battery (this is also energy but have separate section) or solar panels (this is also energy but again separate section).
So as you see there there is many energy sources / consumption but but divided into separated section. The same should be with heat.
Additional my UoM is “GJ” and asking for heat /cool keep separate UoM different that kWh.
@roelzadh can add tag “energy” and optional dashboard too?
