I have been trying to setup the new energy dashboard but I am not sure what to select for the configured sensors. Sense power monitor has 2 sensors that are created in HA. One is sensor.daily_usage and another is sensor.daily_production (I have solar panels). What do I use in the energy dashboard configuration for “energy to grid” and what for “energy from grid”? If I use the above sensors, the dashboard kind of works but it can’t determine how much of the solar was consumed. I used the sensor.daily production for the solar configuration.
I don’t know where to go from here.
I am having the same issue. While I can add Daily_Usage and Daily_Production, the numbers aren’t realtime, but are a total of that day.
sense.energy_usage and sense.energy_production aren’t exposed to the energy dashboard, which are the ones that are going to give you the real time stats. Also, none of the devices that sense picks up to get specific energy stats from are exposed to the energy dashboard either.
I did make template sensors from sense.energy_usage and sense.energy_production to create power to grid and power from grid. I also created two integrations using the above sensors to create energy counters for to grid and from grid. Home assistant appears to get the reset times or the calculation wrong as it does not match Sense data.
I do see energy monitors for to grid and from grid in Sense under Trends–>Solar but they are not exposed in the Home Assistant integration. I don’t know how to get them exposed.
