While waiting for the feature requests that address the need of being able to calculate the benefit of not having to pay for energy, how has this been handled by the community?

I find threads that add fictive sensors to the dashboard, but as my Energy Usage bar chart is already correct, as is the Energy Distribution wheel, I am not that keen of adding an Self-consumed sensor, although it will show up as a Source.
Other solutions I have found relies on the utility meter, but that is as those are trying to understand the electricity bill, while the self consumed solar energy is more related to the investment of the system, ie the time span is not annual but 10-20 years.
