Energy Monitor Plug With Fastest Refresh Rate

Hello all, I reside in the UK and since getting solar cannot rely on the homes IHD to keep track of consumption throughout the day, I have a pretty solid baseline for stuff as ive been keeping records for years but would like something that works with home assistant that has as close of a refresh rate as possible to the dumb energy monitors.

I have tried the Tapo P110 before, bought a double pack and they were far from anywhere near accurate whether it was a gaming session consisting of 8hrs where peak consumption wasn’t even close to what I drew when a game was loaded and on a absolute minimum 30w device idle (receiver) it still recorded a peak of 29w despite turning eco off and having volume at 60 during a movie.

Two different apps for the P110’s reported different numbers and it was quite frustrating.

Is there an option out there with less than 5s on report rate on consumption?

Did you ever find a solution to this? As I’m looking for the same thing

I have gone down the Zigbee route of getting a bidrectional clamp meter, because of solar. I need to know whether I am consuming or exporting, and my current battery operated clamp meter - is not bidirectional so it simply reports everything as consumption.

I don’t feel keen about installing it into the consumer unit though, so I have to wait for an electrician to come in January and install a double gang socket so that I can plug them in to that.

I bought 2, one specifically to monitor what the heat pump is consuming and one for grid consumption vs export.

Basically this:
