yesterday I migrated my HA-Instance to a new Hardware. I created a snapshot at the old system and restored it at the new instance. Both have the same versions of HA installed.
Everything worked fine, but the energy statistics seemed not to be snapshotted / restored. Energy monitoring started new and there’s no historic data.
Is this intended?
I suppose it’s logical. You don’t know how old a snapshot might be. We need a separate mechanism for backing up and restoring data.

This doesn’t make sense and it is not logical at all. You know exactly when the snapshot was created as this info is in the snapshot.
I has been a while since this post appeared (I have just noticed it accidentally now) and I’m not sure what was the HA state at that time but if you create full snapshot all DB records should be preserved. Especially if you haven’t changed the default DB - HA stores everything in SQLite DB which is just a local file.
I have done similar hardware migration few times recently and everything worked. Energy statistics from the past are present on the new box.
