Enphase battery discharge neutral level creeps up over time

I had my Enphase system installed at the end of October and overall works great, but noticed something unusual in the Home Assistant reporting. I tried to set an automation based on the value of the battery discharge sensor, but the ‘neutral’ value keeps increasing over time. Any ideas as to why this might be the case? I can use instead, I guess, the battery charge level, but not sure if I should be concerned about this.

I’ve seen this reported before but no clear cause was identified. The Battery discharge entity comes from a storage current transformer (CT) (assume you have that installed).

What comes to mind, but it’s more guesswork then expertise, is that the CT reports some small value when it’s really zero, or has some noise or other influx that causes it to report some small value.

Other noticeable event is that is seems to reset to zero right before Nov 10. what happened then?

Interesting, thanks. Although in his case it looks more constant, whereas the rate on mine has been steadily increasing, which makes it difficult to use for automations. I posted this also on the Enphase forums and they indicated that it might be a CT configuration issue, so I let my installers know about it. Meanwhile I created a template sensor in a somewhat hacky way to use the lifetime discharged value, which doesn’t increase when the battery is not being used, so I can back into the amount being discharged this way. It’s not as real-time I think as the other sensor, in that I had to create some method for it to determine that the battery wasn’t being discharged when the readings didn’t change across a time interval, but it works well enough. Would be nice if the original sensor worked as intended, though.

Just an update here, the template sensor seems to be working well enough for my purposes. But, after coming back out to check the CTs the installer seems to have fixed something as the reporting now looks more or less correct for the battery discharge sensor.
