I’m surprised the automation ran at all. Are you using the continue on error option in your automations?

I’m not sure they are running .
Manually seems ok . Strange how entities appear and disappear in trace for no obvious reason . Only see this in the logs not sure if related
No ‘continue ‘ just simple on off automation done in UI
Is this a case that the device drops off the network (Zha) - then automation doesn’t run as no device entities ? - but sometimes reconnects again …
