upgraded from the Epson Home cinema 2150. I was able to get that projector into Home Assistant with the Epson projector link integration via IP address. I was also able to wirelessly cast With the native Windows cast function without even installing the projection software on the computer. Fast forward I now have the Epson home Cinema 50-50 and I have an ethernet cable ran from my ubiquity dream machine to the projector. I can use the remote functionality on the iProjection app on my iPhone, but I am unable to get Home Assistant to find the projector when I type in the IP address, and I also cannot use the native Windows cast.
When I called Epson they said that the 2150 had mirror cast and the 50-50 does not so that is why I’m unable to use the native windows casting feature. I don’t know how accurate that is but anyways The main thing I want to do is get the projector into Home Assistant. I have an Apple TV and I just AirPlay that for everything else.
I’m using the Epson projector link through HACS I believe. Here is the link on GitHub. And in the example you can see that they are using the Epson 50-50, But I’m unable to and just keep getting the message “failed to connect” And I’m almost positive I’m doing everything correctly because I can then straight away power on my 2150 and home assistant has no problem finding it. I have also tried the wireless network adapter for the projector with the same issue.
At the same time, the Epson integration works just fine. I want to use the Epson Projecter Link integration though becaue it has a warm-up entity and gives you more freedome in terms of automations.
Any ideas on why this is or how to get this workng? or next steps?
