Error growing mnt/data

Currently, when I boot Home Assistant, I get an error message something like:
Error: growing mnt/data.
It does this several times and then stops the boot before completion. A Ctrl-D will cause it to continue and HA seems to run OK in spite of this.

  1. What do you think is the problem? I recently expanded my storage space thinking that it needed a bit of room to sprawl, but the original “disk” was 32MB and it was only using 11MB.
(I’m running HA on a VirtualBox VM on a Windows machine with a virtual disk set to 64MB size.)
  2. If manually “growing” the data folder is part of the solution, how would I do that?
(I’m a bit rusty on Linux command line commands.)

Im running VMWare, at i just had to increase/expanded disk to 64GB in WMWare(i assume you also mean GB), then HA automatically “reclaimed” the available space(it needs), and i’ve never seen this Error:
Don’t know what differences there are vs VB … And im running Homeassistant OS, not HASSOS or other, might be differences their also
EDIT: With “expanded my storage” you don’t mean you mounted, right ?, you used VB feature expand-disk, or?

That may be part of the problem there. I expanded the disk image in VirtualBox, but didn’t do anything else (and yes, I did mean GB. I’m showing my age there  ).
Do I need to tell Home Assistant that the disk is bigger in some way or would simply rebooting with the larger disk do that?

hmmm, i think i just shut down HA, than expanded the disk, restarted VM and HA, read somewhere that HA ( if Homeassistant OS) would expand automatic to available diskspace
(in regards to your age “issues” i can only confirm(from own experience), but not advice)
… but i do remember when i got my first 10MB disk, wow, i felt the king of the road :joy:
PS: if you another HA-install i think i read somewhere that you have to tell OS/HA to expand yes, i’ll check if i have a bookmark on it
