Error requesting NWS forecast - Anyone else seeing this?

After updating to 2023.12.3 I noticed the National Weather Service integration was failing with errors such as the following:
ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.nws] Error requesting NWS forecast hourly station KPWM data: 502, message='Bad Gateway', url=URL('https://api.weather.gov/gridpoints/GYX/66,33/forecast/hourly')

I confirmed that URL doesn’t work in my browser, either.

Going to the NWS web site, I found a description of how to call their API, with examples.

One of their examples was the following URL:
https://api.weather.gov/gridpoints/LWX/96,70/forecast/hourly

Sure enough, that gives an error, too. I figured it was yet another temporary outage at the NWS side. I’ve seen NWS outages before, and it usually resolves itself.

It’s been almost 18 hours now, and I’m still getting the same error.

Is anyone else seeing this? I’d love to hear that it was just a coincidence that it started happening the exact moment I updated.

I did a little more digging, and may have answered my own question:

Wow. a 9-10 day outage. What a way to run a datacenter! I guess all those government workers have the week off. Must be nice.

Unreal. Time to use another API unfortunate. NWS is usually the most accurate for me in Idaho. what are you guys using??
