ESP Connected via WireGuard seemingly not working

I can indeed see my phone and the ESP (I do manually have to tell it to look at the 10.0.0.X IP range though)

Apparently I can’t read, I canot see my phone or ESP via an IP scanner, but i can see the WireGuard server.

Edit: googleing the above, seems like this should be the case as WireGuard doesn’t handle packets in the correct way for ‘pings’ like an IP scanner?

Any joy if you switch esphome app to pings instead of mDNS

Change in configs in esphome

How do you find this config file? I can’t find it.

Yiew config as yaml

I have found my solution!

I have had to add this entry to my configuration.yaml:

shell_command:
  wireguard_route: >
ip route replace 10.0.0.0/24 via 192.168.0.67

And add an automation to run on startup via the .yaml editor for automations:

alias: WireGuard Route
description: ''
triggers:
  - trigger: homeassistant
    event: start
conditions: []
actions:
  - action: shell_command.wireguard_route
mode: single

Now I can see and access the ESP as if its on my network locally

I had to modify the help given in this post as all my machines are separate, and here they are running everything from within HA.
