Some weeks ago, someone posted a question about flashing ESPHome to an ESP32 C3 SuperMicro board.
This looked like the perfect board for an upcoming project. Right price, right pinouts, I just need to flash ESPHome to it. The problem is I can’t get a reliable connection to WiFi.
Has anyone else seen these boards?
It’s a known issue with C3 bought on Ali: Their antenna suck.

I am 4 ft from the AP.
Also Ali doesn’t “make” anything. They are a marketplace just like Amazon.
Did I say “make”? Nope.
But if you find another explanation, I’m all ears. I must say I didn’t experience the issue myself, tbh.
There is one workaround that might help, reducing txpower in your yaml to ~8.5-10 dB (the antennas are bad and badly matched (SWR)). Doing this might completely ‘fix’ the situation (although you obviously won’t win any range competitions) for you in practical terms - or it might not.
