Where are you hiding all of the additional components/wiring you had to add to those lamps with tiny bases and no obvious spot to hide additional components??
Im just curious but, if you had the extra space with the esp32 board then why not do something like voice controlled or possibly use a Gesture sensor that can distinguish between a hand waving up/down to control brightness?? Nothing wrong with what you chose to use, im just curious if you considered alternatives and if so, why did you rule them out??

I use Alexa for voice control. Gesture control would require different touch zones on the lamp itself - I’m not clever enough for that!
