ESP32 Will Not Connect for Firmware Install

I have a noob question. This is my first time using an ESP32 and I’m trying to load ESPresense onto it. But when I do the web based firmware installation, I keep getting the error ‘No port selected’. How can I fix this?

Here’s some details:

  • Laptop is running WIN10.
  • Cable is a verified USB A to micro USB data transfer cable.
  • CP210x Universal Windows Driver has been installed from Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers - Silicon Labs
  • Chip on my ESP32 is the CP2102.
  • Windows does ‘ding’ when I connect the device to my laptop and red light on the ESP32 is on.
  • I tried rebooting the laptop. Didn’t help.
  • The specific error I get back from my system is shown on the attached screen capture.

Any ideas or YouTube videos that explain the fix?

Just figured out the problem. I’m supposed to select a port from that list and then Connect will enable. For those that have the same Noobie problem, this YouTube video helped: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCgUWsn3F70&t=2s
