Esp8266 / mqtt bulbs

MQTT lighting
Hi all, apologies if this has been extensively explored.
I’m looking for recommdations for esp8266 based led lighting that I can flash and then control via MQTT.
Im pretty familiar with flasing esp firmwere onto various sonoff and other devices & don’t shy away from some soldering.
There seem to me a myriad devices out there, so some recommendations would be much appreciated.
Desireable features: on/off, dim, colour change, no additional hardware, large screw cap fitting.

Disclaimer: I have not done this myself so I am only relaying what I have learned in my quest of research on another topic.

Any Magic Light (Magic Home, Magic Hue) “wifi” bulb has a flashable esp8266 in it and can be used with Tasmota and even ESPHome I believe. These bulbs can be labeled under a scary amount of different names but look for the app they use. Same boat with Tuya compatible bulbs I believe.
