ESPHOME 2025.5.2 to 2025.6 or greater

Ok, I’m going crazy…
I don’t have much experience with programming, Linux, or Python!

This is my problem:
until now, I’ve installed my ESOHOME devices with ESPHOME installed on MAC via the terminal (on RASPBERRY, it couldn’t be managed and often crashed).

I installed the ESPHOME 2025.5.2 version. And so far, so good. Today, I’m trying to flash the new version of my RESPEAKER, but it gives me an error because it requires the higher version of ESPHOME 2025.6 or something, but I can’t install/update it on my MAC…

How can I update the version of my ESPHOME on MAC since I try with ChatGPT, but I always get errors and I don’t know what to do?

I uninstalled everything but it keeps reinstalling 2025.5.2 but I don’t understand how to update it on my MAC.

Thanks

How are you uninstalling and reinstalling?
What does it say when you do this?
Which version of Python do you have installed on your Mac?

I suspect this is your problem:

This version of esphome requires Python 3.10 and you are probably using an older version.

Now I have everything and reinstalled with Python 3.11.
I need the browser-based GUI to flash my ESP devices like the ESP32S3, ESP32, etc., and my respeaker.

with chat gpt now I have installed the 2025.8.0-dev but it doesn’t convince me

is this version okay?

Why?

Did you follow the instructions here?
https://esphome.io/guides/installing_esphome.html

I suspect that would have installed the current version of esphome. You have installed the in development (next) version. Unless you are a developer of esphome and/or like living on the bleeding edge you would probably be better served by installing the current supported version.

While AI can seem magical, remember that it currently has zero actual intelligence and if you are not careful can increase your laziness:

Now I am all for the lazy developer, but there are better ways to be lazy

Laziness… I have a family, two children, and a full-time job that keeps me busy 25 days a month traveling all over Europe…

not having time and laziness are different…

I understand your frustration, but using AI isn’t helping you any. All you’re doing is wasting the little time you have doing things that aren’t going to work. If you have time to do it four times wrong, it seems like it might be worth making time to do it once right, even if you have to read something yourself and understand it.
