ESPHome-Device from other HomeAssistant-Instance - only entities, no software-editing possible

Hi everyone,

yesterday I installed ESPHome on an ESP32 and integrated it to our HomeAssistant-Instance at home. Today I integrated it to another Homeassistant-Instance at our friends house. I entered the encryption-key and everything worked like a charm - I can see all entities and the device is correctly shown in the integrations-menu.

BUT: If I go to the ESP-Menu, the new ESP isn’t listed there - so i can’t edit it! I can’t make any changes on the ESP32-Software.

Restart of HomeAssistant didn’t help.

Did someone has a solution?

You’ll need the yaml file.

So I need to install it again with the new home assistant instance?

No, you just need to put the yaml file in /config/esphome.

You can then update the esp device as usual from the esphome interface.
