I’ve been running Hass.io on my ESXi 6.7 server for some weeks now (converted the vmdk file). Let me start by saying that I’m absolutely loving HA + Node Red, it really offers limitless possibilities once you get your head around nodes and flows…
The one thing I’m unable to get working is Bluetooth, which is the final piece of the puzzle for me. I’ve purchased and tried 3 dongles, all which fail to show in HA (they do show via lsusb however).
Am I wasting my time, or is there a solution to this? Pulling my hair out…
I’m also using ESXi 6.7 on an Intel NUC. I tried hass.io and after a few issues installed hass.io on Ubuntu 18 instead. I’ve been able to pass the built in Bluetooth adapter through to the Ubuntu VM as a usb device. The hass.io docker container passed it through automatically from Ubuntu. So it’s definitely possible
