Ethernet zigbee dongle

Its well known that usb3 cause unwanted interference with zigbee. Would a TubesZB ethernet dongle take care of that problem also? I have ordered one to be able to place it in a better position in the house. It is also PoE and based on the same chip as the Skyconnect. EFR32 MGM21 PoE Coordinator – TubesZB

No, it isn’t.

Zigbee and WiFi can have issues because they both operate in the same frequency band (2.4 GHz). Operating a ZigBee network and a Wi-Fi network in close proximity will cause them to interfere with each other. Usually, the ZigBee network will take the hit.

The most cost efficient solution is to plug the Zigbee dongle into a USB extension cable and locate it a meter from the WiFi device.

Yes, it is. USB3 close to a 2.4GHz device will cause issues, that‘s why you are advised to use an extension cord.

The TubesZB is among the supported adapters for Zigbee2mqtt, but according to Z2M‘s documentation, it‘s based on CC2652P2.

Maybe there’s a new version.

Yeah, it really does. This was posted to the Home Assistant YouTube channel in the last 24 hours:

I have Tube’s non PoE Ethernet CC2652P2 based router. It never misses a beat.
