I have some thermostats in HAOS via Z-Wave JS 0.9.0 that actually work quite good. I have only created a few automations to control the target temperature at certain times.
From time to time, however, the thermostats heat up considerably for no apparent reason.
One such incident is logged in the following screenshot.
Shortly after 10 p.m., I manually set the desired temperature on the thermostat from 19 to 17 degrees. The thermostat reduces heating, which is correct. At 11 pm, the target temperature is set to 16 degrees using automation. This remains until the next morning at 8 am.
You can see that the thermostat starts to heat actively around 11:30 pm and maintains a fairly high temperature of around 20.5 degrees. I noticed this at 7 a.m. and set the device to “no heat” for half an hour via the HA app and then back to “heat” at 7:30 a.m. At 8 o’clock the thing is running normally again.
Does someone noticed such heatings too? I can’t see what the problem is at the moment. What can I check to find the reason for this? Is the device perhaps defective? Is there any way to counteract this so that it is recognized and corrected?
What does the logbook say about the thermostat changes? It’s really hard to tell what the target temperature value is doing on that graph; can you disable the “Thermostat Living Room heating” value by clicking on the legend?
Last seen is the last time the controller saw it on the z-wave network. Not related. Can you post the same graph as before but disable “Thermostat Living Room heating”?
I can’t find any related logs. I can see in the Logbook of the TRV:
22:10 Valve control changed to 0
23:13 Valve control changed to 1
23:16 Valve control changed to 4
23:20 Valve control changed to 1
23:23 Valve control changed to 0
No changes till 07:06 when I turned it off.
Maybe the TRV has some problems?
I don’t know what else I could check.
Edit: I have no automations or similar for changing any state by another device. All TRVs are working independently.
