Eurotronic Spirit Zwave+ doesn't report temperature often

I recently switched my thermostatic radiator valves from POPP 010101 to Eurotronic Spirit (firmware 0.15 and 0.16).

While they seem to share the same capacities, I’ve noticed that the Spirit TRVs don’t reliably report the air temperature: I can ping them and refresh their values with Z-Wave JS, but that’s a manual process that defeats automation. They also don’t seem to have an internal clock.

Is there a way to improve their reporting reliability?

FWIW, the TRVs are currently in off mode (I’m using https://better-thermostat.org/). Maybe keeping them on at the minimum temperature would help?

I have two of them (FW 0.16) integrated for test some time ago via Z-Wave JS. Both are regularly reporting temperature, without issues and without any automation/manual intervention to force readout:

One watch out though; since temperature sensor is build into thermostat itself, during heating period reported temperature is way off the actual one. So to be honest I implemented external sensors for measuring room temperature and I’m feeding it back to valves to improve temperature control.
In theory it is possible to simplify this by creation of automation that will adjust valve internal temperature offset between real temperature and measured one, but it is limited to ±5 C and in reality these differences can be higher.
So I’d not bother with reporting issues and go for external sensor right away.
