Even more alternative icons

I recently shared a link to flaticon.com as a source for free icons. You get them as PNGs and insert them using image tags instead of icon. It doesn’t work everywhere, but when and where it does, it can add a nice splash of color.

I thought I’d mention another service that’s essentially the same idea: icons8

Please note that while these icons are free to use, you are obligated to give credit to the designer. I’m not a legal expert, but I think an ATTRIBUTIONS or ICON_CREDITS file in your github repo would cover it.

Yes and it is a great source of photos too. (And sounds but I haven’t explored that).
As stated attribution is required.
