I implemented the Gira X1/S1 as the logic engine after transitioning to a KNX smart home and automated my house with it. However, while adding non-KNX devices, I encountered several limitations. Finally, I integrated Home Assistant, which significantly enhanced my home’s smart capabilities.
Currently, I’m running both systems together since they have complementary strengths and weaknesses. I still find myself sending a lot of data between Home Assistant and the X1. To date, the only method I’ve discovered for this communication is through the KNX bus. Consequently, I’m transmitting numerous telegrams from the X1’s IP side through the KNX bus to Home Assistant’s IP side, resulting in high traffic on the KNX bus at all times.
Does anyone have suggestions for connecting both systems on the IP side without relying on the KNX bus constantly?
