So i reconfigured my SmartThings integration to use Nabu Casa and it works pretty good. Here’s the thing, As I start to move off of SmartThings I want to limit what I import. In Home Assistant I see the Lifx bulbs, my locks, my virtual switches and misc other devices i want to leave in SmartThings . For a time I will need to have devices configured in both platforms. this leads to a very messy device registration. I am looking for a way to filter out what is discovered from SmartThings. With other platforms I would do it in the App in SmartThings. For example I have Lifx connected to Alexa directly so in the integration in ST I do not expose those devices to be discovered. I feel this needs to be addressed for the large group of people that are going to use this integration. Does anyone have any ideas?
I too would prefer to exclude Wemo devices that SmartThings keeps including every time I discover devices.
Bringing this topic back up, is there any way to exclude devices from the (otherwise excellent) SmartThings integration?
EDIT: Update, I figured this out, You can disable devices (including devices from SmartThings) in Configuration > Entities by clicking on the entity and unchecking “Enable Entity”. Nice!
With the latest few versions of Home Assistant (0.115… ) I have made the decision to abandon SmartThings. Samsung is forcing changes I don’t really like and HA now has OZW beta so i made the decision to move forward. I took gen3 i5 NUC and imaged it with HassOS!! it took 3 weeks to migrate my devices, automations and dashboards to the new install. this decision was completely validated when internet from the provider dropped earlier this week and all my devices and automations all continued to work!!
