Experience with flashing Tasmota on Sonoff Zigbee Bridge & devices, is it flawless? And how do those compare with Aqara Zigbee sensors?

Does somebody knows what happens if the wifi connection fails temporarily (short spikes of interruption)?

I don’t know. I have over 100 Wifi devices in the house, never had an interruption. Tasmota allows you to configure 2 SSID’s, so if one fails, the other can take over.

OK, sounds interesting. Thus 2 SSIDs, would that mean you need then 2 wifi access points/routers (different channels) if you want to build in some redundancy in the design of the wifi link to/from the ZBBridge?

Hi Francis, do you have some thoughts around this, or experience with using 2 SSIDs?

I do have 2 SSID’s in the house (more for the Tasmota wifi devices than for the Zigbee), and I never have a problem with them.

OK, thanks. Does that mean that you flashed other wifi equipped Sonoff devices with Tasmota and those communicate via wifi with your HA set-up?

Sonoffs can work with Home Assistant without changing the Firmware!

Is it correct that the Sonoff Zigbee line of end-devices (sensors, power plug) cannot be flashed with Tasmota?

I know that it can be done for the Zigbee Bridge.

If so, has there other alternative firmware (like Tasmota) been developed already for the Sonoff Zigbee end- devices to allow full local control by HA?

Yes it is. But : there is no need to flash anything else on Zigbee end-devices. Zigbee is locally controlled through your Zigbee coordinator, and your Zigbee integration. All you need to do for local control is pair your Zigbee device with your coordinator.

Anyone else having troubles with motion sensors?.

I have a sensor that turns on the light when there is motion and the light level is below 10.

When im already in the kitches and the level turns below 10 the light should be going on (it always did with my CC2531). Now it just shows there is motion but it doesnt get retriggered so it tells node-red to turn on the lights.

I have no experience with that.

I have another question regarding the Sonoff Zigbee Temperature sensor:

I assume that this device does use the 1-wire technology to read the digital value of the temperature chip onboard the sensor.

https://www.itead.cc/sonoff-snzb-02-zigbee-temperature-and-humidity-sensor.html

I have multiple temperature sensors on one cable (1-wire set-up) in the house (DS18B20).

Would it be possible to connect this cable to the Sonoff Zigbee temp sensor and read in HA the different values of the DS18B20 sensors on the cable? What would be needed from a software point of view?

Hi,

I have also bought the Sonoff Bridge and flashed it with Tasmota. The Sonoff Button is working.

I am not sure but I found that Aqara Sensors are directly connectable to the bridge but for me the pairing was not succesful. Anyone got this working?

PLEASE HELP!
I have followed some very good instructions

…and got stuck on plugging my CH340 into my laptop. LEDs in both -adapter and sonoff device turn on and you can hear the notification sound that usb device has been plugged in but there is no port visible on Tasmotizer (I have even reinstalled my Windows 10 thinking the system was faulty).

Connection has been checked and confirmed with the meter and I have run out of ideas.
Just to let you know I am not an IT specialist but I recently started my Home assistant “project” and love this stuff. I work as a paramedic and help others but could do with a little help from someone who maybe got stuck same as me.

i using many sonoff devices with tasmota but zigbee kill me after the flashing issue.i flashed zbbrige.bin file and all is ok .after flashing i see the device in ap mode like tosomota device and i access to them with 192.168.4.1 address and setup local wifi address.
then starts problems .device jumping every 3-4 second from IP address to AP mode (i see them now like ESP-E2C2F7).
It is impossible for any other step in flashing .I tray 3-4 time with flashing (tasmotizer and nodemcu ) but result is the same .Pleas help ?? thanks

Follow these instructions, if I was you I would start from scratch again.

I have just updated two of mine today with

Tasmota v9.3.1 Kenneth

and

https://github.com/arendst/Tasmota/blob/e7cbd4f00191025254ed9ff577a3f243a0c81c06/tools/fw_SonoffZigbeeBridge_ezsp/ncp-uart-sw_6.7.8_115200.ota?raw=true

worked fine for me.

thanks, dude. works like charm.

anybody now the way to a device connected to tasmota bridge work with alexa ?? i set bridge like Hue bridge but alexa don’t see them and all devices on sonoff bridge .

How did you upgrade them? Which versions were you on previously?

i upgrade sonoff zigbee bridge like Markb1 suggested 2 post before .
tasmota 9.1.0 (look like old version )

and https://github.com/arendst/Tasmota/blob/e7cbd4f00191025254ed9ff577a3f243a0c81c06/tools/fw_SonoffZigbeeBridge_ezsp/ncp-uart-sw_6.7.8_115200.ota?raw=true

Ok, that’s what I did too but it was really frustrating when I had to re-pair all my devices.
