Extending/Converting BLE with ESPHome

I have a VegTrug that is out of range of my homeassistant machine, I was thinking that I could some how use an esp8266 and have the vegtrug talk to that device via bluetooth and then connect home assistant to the ESPHome. Is this possible? Or is there a better way other than moving my home assistant box closer?

There are a lot of BLE devices that work exactly like that.

Hope you guys don’t mind me bringing this up again. I had the vegtrug sensor working under the ble integration fine, but like the OP was out of range.

I’ve set up the esp_home ble but I just get unknown states. I am using the same device ID under the BLE integration. Is there anything obvious I am missing or should be checking?

Scub that, had the wrong device ID.
