Hello,
I’m looking for a great solution collecting data from a Bluetooth device too far away from my Raspberry Pi with running home assistant server. My RPi is located in the basement and some BT devices are in the living room and in the garden. I want to collect data of these BT devices through my Home Assistant. Does anyone have a solution to this “problem”?
Have a look at OpenMQTTGateway
Have you taken a look at this using some Pi Zero Ws?:
Are you using a Pi Zero like this? I saw some reporting issues when using a Pi zero and bluetooth at the same time, apparently interference between the radios can be an issue. It would be nice to know this isn’t an issue.
Yeah, I haven’t had any issues, but I only have 1 Zero in my place since I live in a condo. I started using it because I was having BT radio issues on my Pi that HASS was running on. It is kinda a pain to set up (and does add useless data to MQTT), but it helps out for my presence detection to have more sources to tell when I’m home. I’d say the pros outweigh the cons for sure.
