A couple of days ago, i was playing with z-wave js ui and it did not work, so i gave up for the moment. All devices was connected to Home Assistant at that time.

A couple of days later i noticed, that my door sensors doesnt work anymore. As i refered to Home Control, all of my z-wave devices are now grayed out and unreachable, but z-wave js ui is no showing them all.

Z-wave in Home control states “failed setup, will retry”. I cannto see, what retrying the same again and again should fix… i could not fimnd any setting which a could change to make it work:

when i go to “configure” i get this error:

That means you are configured to use the core Z-Wave JS add-on, not Z-Wave JS UI ( core-zwave-js:3000 is the server address of the core add-on). It’s probable the core add-on is failing to startup because you are also running Z-Wave JS UI. You cannot run both at the same time: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zwave_js/#can-i-switch-between-the-official-z-wave-js-add-on-and-the-z-wave-js-ui-add-on

If you would like to switch from the core add-on to Z-Wave JS UI, you need to follow the instructions: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zwave_js/#how-do-i-switch-between-the-official-z-wave-js-add-on-and-the-z-wave-js-ui-add-on

Since you already have ZUI installed, you can do step 1, then skip to step 4.

Now i did
1st disabled the Z-Wave integration.
2nd noted my network security keys from the official add-on.
3rd skipped install and configure the Z-Wave JS UI add-on, but added the network security keys.
4th added the Z-Wave integration again (even though it is still installed), and unchecked the “Use the Z-Wave JS Supervisor add-on”. Entered the correct address for the community add-on in the URL field in the next step (core-zwave-js:3000).
5th Uninstalled the official Z-Wave JS add-on.
6th Enabled the Z-Wave integration.

Unfortunately, it cannot reach Z-Wave JS UI on Port 3000
Failed to connect: Cannot connect to host core-zwave-js:3000 ssl:default [Name has no usable address]

Although it seems to run:

The logs are now empty, except of a lot of these entries:

I also tryed to restart Z-Wave JS US and Home Assistant, which did change nothing

I fear, the service is not running at port 3000:

That is not the right address, as mentioned that is the core add-on address (Z-Wave JS). Use the address as instructed in the documentation: https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-zwave-js-ui/blob/d0ad021d05c5f2ce3dce655864162201b5abf21d/zwave-js-ui/DOCS.md#setting-up-the-home-assistant-z-wave-js-integration

The correct address according to those instructions is ws://a0d7b954-zwavejs2mqtt:3000.

Yeah, you changed add-on settings you shouldn’t have. No reason to set Server Host nor turn on the MQTT gateway and MQTT discovery. The add-on comes configured as necessary and you only need to change what is in the instructions.
