"Failed to connect" when trying to configure ZHA with a CC2531

I’m brand new to HA OS. I have it installed on an x86 i5 NUC running Linux.

I’m trying to configure ZHA to use a CC2531. I’ve re-flashed it and it shows up with a serial port:

 $ ls /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Texas_Instruments_TI_CC2531_USB_CDC___0X00124B001CDD4220-if00
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Texas_Instruments_TI_CC2531_USB_CDC___0X00124B001CDD4220-if00
 $

To configure it I:

  • add an integration,
  • pick ZHA,
  • opt to enter a port manually,
  • pick ZNP for the radio type,
  • enter the path above, leaving the speed at 115200 and the flow control at the third unlabelled setting

When I click “Submit” I almost instantly get “Failed to connect”. I tried again picking “Software” and “Hardware” in turn but the result is the same.

If I try all over again but pick the suggested path (/dev/ttyS0), it still fails at the final stage, but it takes a few seconds longer to have a good think about it.

I’m new to this so I don’t even know if I’m following the right steps. Thanks for any advice and help.
