False sensor entities

I am using 60 Zwave devices now. I noticed that from time to time, new nonsense entities are registered with most of the devices. Sometimes I am able to delete them, most of the time I can only disable them.

Like this:

  • My battery operated water detector sensor suddenly has an entity “Any” or "Smoke detected"and even a service “Idle Smoke Alarm Status”. (see figure) It happens often with almost all zwave devices (like a Fibaro built in swith exposing a iliminance sensor or a battery operated smoke sensor reporting Energy usage. What’s possible wrong here. Does some of you experience the same? And how do I get rid of this growing pile of disabled nonsense entities?

Sorry have no answers other than saying I experience the same phantom entities randomly appearing.

Update: I re-positioned my zwave stick using a longer USB cable and had no new ghost entities. However, getting rid of the old ones is quite a challenge. I re-interviewed devices with ghost entities and was able to delete some in HA, but not all. The only way could fix it is by manually editing .storge/core.entity_registry Tricky and a lot of work.

Why isn’t there a ‘force delete’ option in the HA ui??
