Hello, I have a Raspberry Pi 5 and I have the Home-Assistant system installed on it, but how to deal with the CPU cooling configuration (by default, I have a fan connected to dedicated pins on the Raspberry Pi5 motherboard. I would like to ask for help in configuring it because sometimes the processor heats up to 75 degrees Celsius
Maybe this integration can help you.
You can use the GPIO of the Raspberry Pi to control te fan.
The problem is that I don’t know how to do it
You can try the example configuration, in the manual of the integration and change that to the pin on the Raspberry pi u are using for the fan.
Have you managed it?
Hello, can somebody please tell me the GPIO # of the dedicated fan pins on the Pi 5?
I would like to control the official active cooler with that Integration.
Thanks in advance,
Denny
Were you able to find this out? I just moved to a PI 5 and I need to figure out how to control the fan as it’s running really hot.
No sorry. Wich temperature are you running on?
I moved to another metal case with the active cooler on it and my CPU runs mostly on 49 Degrees Celsius. Didn‘t have to take control over the fan so far, since my system is running smooth even with InfluxDB activated.
Edit: Does your fan run all the time on Max power when you hit above 60? Could be an installation problem as well, because that seems way too hot. Even with the cheaper original case without active fan I didn’t reach 60 so far.
Cheers
