Has anyone found a good solution to integrate a ceiling fan into HA with either zwave or ESPhome and still retain full functionality of the remote that comes with the fan controller? I’ve found solutions, but none that seem to also allow use of the remote. In order to keep the WAF I need the fan to work like normal with a remote in the event HA is down. I suppose I would settle for a wall mounted switch with speed control as long as HA can control it. But I would prefer a handheld remote.
I used a Hampton Bay fan from home depot that came with a wink enabled zigbee fan controller.
It paired easily with my ZHA integration and will work with the remote control outside of HA also.
