Fan Wiring?

This may be the wrong place for this, but thought I’d give it a shot.

I have a Casa Vieja Fan (Tripstar 3TR52) and am trying to put z-wave switches in place instead of the fan/light remote (I hate those). Like other fans I’ve done this with, I just didn’t install the receiver in the fan canopy. But this fan has an extra wire and I am struggling to figure out what to do with it. The install guide says:
Black = Motor
White = Motor
Gray = Motor
Blue = Light
Red = Light

I don’t really get why you’d need 3 lines for the fan, or two for the light (assuming they share a neutral). Any ideas on this? There are no wiring diagrams on this so just hoping somebody has seen this before.

we need schematics to avoid guessing. Make a pic of the guide.

Just a wild guess from a not very experienced guy…
Black: Line Fan
White: Neutral
Gray: Load Fan
Blue: Load Light
Red: Line Light

As mentioned… just a wild guess

Ugh… think I found it. It has a DC motor, so I think I’m stuck using the receiver and remote. SAD!

Try with Broadlonk RM 4 PRO. It can simulate the remote.
for the light you do can use a relay. That is what I did with my fan with your same problem

The problem with that suggestion is that there’s no way to synch the actual fan state with the state shown in HA since there’s no state feedback from the fan.

I used to use the broadlink for my fans as well. I had to jump thru hoops to get any semblance of real vs HA state synchronicity.

and if anyone ever used the remote it all came tumbling down.

I switched to using Sonoff iFan04’s and everything has been great with the fans ever since.
